Abstract

The description of Stachys circassica from rocky-meadows spur of Mt. Chernaya Pyramida [Black Pyramid] on northern slope of the Aibga Ridge (Sochi National Park, Krasnodar Territory) is presented. The species belongs to section Betonica (L.) Benth. Apparently, it is close to sympatric S. macrantha (C. Koch) Stearn, however, it differs exactly from it in morphology and ecology. It differs radically from other species of the section Betonica in habitus and ecology. New species is narrow northern Colchis endemic, which developed under the periglacial conditions of the limestone rocks on northern slope of the Aibga Ridge.
