Notes on Potentilla L. (Rosaceae) of Altai. 6. Potentilla pamirica Th. Wolf – a new species for the flora of Russia and other findings
Abstract
New data on the distribution of three species from the genus Potentilla found in the Altai mountain country are presented. P. pamirica collected on the Ukok plateau is a new species for the flora of Russia; P. tobolensis was recorded in the Republic of Altai for the first time; a new location was found for P. rudolfii. P. chamaeleo is a very complex and variable taxon of hybridogenic origin; after a thorough study of the morphology we propose to give P. chamaeleo var. tytthantha a rank of independent species.
