Two new species of Pedicularis (Orobanchaceae) from Eastern Kazakhstan
UDC 582.916.26 (574/575)
Abstract
The article provides a description of two new species – Pedicularis kotuchovii and Pedicularis saurica (Orobanchaceae) – from the territory of Eastern Kazakhstan (the Ridges of Saur and Tarbagatai (Altaian), Ukok plateau). These species belong to one of the systematically complex series Comosae of the section Pedicularis. The described species are most closely related to two species: P. venusta and P. kaufmannii. Despite the similarity of the species in the structure of the calyx and partly in the shape and color of the corolla, middle and lower bracts, the new species clearly differ in the structure of roots, upper bracts, the shape of the capsules, the shape, size and indumentum of the lower lip of the corolla, the character of pubescence of the filaments. One species, P. venusta, has been excluded from the flora of Kazakhstan. A key for identifying the series Comosae of Pedicularis in Eastern Kazakhstan is presented.
