Taxonomic history, restoration of species independence and typification of Fritillaria leucantha (Liliaceae)
UDC 582.572.2:581.92
Abstract
The name Fritillaria leucantha is usually considered as one of the synonyms of F. verticillata. However, morphological data indicate that this judgment should be reconsidered. In this article, we typify the name F. leucantha, provide its taxonomic history, and provide a detailed description. Based on our review and other data, we determine the species’ range to be within Altai. In parallel with this, a solution to the emerging issue of choosing the type material of F. verticillata is proposed.
