ADDITIONS TO THE DISTRIBUTION OF THE GENUS HESPERIS L. (CRUCIFERAE) IN NORTH AMERICA AND CHINA
Abstract
Mesophytic species group of Hesperis is fairly monolithic. The main features at the species rank often lies in the nature of pubescence of any part of the plant. The study of herbarium collections in the Missouri Botanical Garden (MO) has shown that in North America, four (H. pycnotricha, H. matronalis, H. sibirica and H. ciscaucasica) rather than one (H. matronalis) species occur. Species are well distinguished from each other by the nature of hairs on the leaves and stalks. According to the Chinese material in MO and LE, it is clear that H. pseudonivea grows in Northern China, which has several notable differences from H. sibiricaDownloads
