Ultrasculpture of the seed surface of some species of the section Xiphidium Bunge genus Astragalus L. (Fabaceae)
Abstract
Ultrasculpture of seed surface of 12 Asian species of genus Astragalus L. section Xiphidium Bunge, was studied by the method of scanning electronic microscopy (SAM), for assessment of the diagnostic importance of the given sign in genus systematics. The main distinctions in the sculpture of the species studied are created at the expense of degree of expressiveness of anticlinal walls, their tortuosity and a relief of external periclinal walls. The results of the analysis have shown isolation of 2 species – A. lenensis Shemetova, Schaulo et Lomon. and A. palibinii Polozhij, with not expressed primary ultrasculpture of surfaces, unlike the majority of species with well expressed sculpture having mesh drawing.Downloads
